Online car platform Car & Classic has announced its inaugural Collector Edition auction, featuring rare Bentleys, Aston Martins, Ferraris, and a Lamborghini.
Car & Classic is launching its first Collector Edition sale this November. This new event combines the convenience of online bidding with a traditional auction format, featuring handpicked iconic cars from all eras and offering collectors and enthusiasts the opportunity to acquire a top-grade collector’s car.
Tom Wood, CEO at Car & Classic, says: “When we established Car & Classic auctions in 2020, we knew we would disrupt the sub-£100k classic auction market, and we’ve done so successfully, establishing ourselves as the largest classic auction house in the UK. Collectors Edition is a natural expansion for us – we’ve curated over 30 superb collectors’ cars, exclusively available via Car & Classic’s secure online platform, available to buy from the comfort of your home.”
The Collector Edition sale is now available for viewing and pre-bidding, with lots closing online at 3 pm GMT on Saturday, 15 November.
Former Top Gear presenter Chris Harris, renowned for his expertise, has endorsed the Collector’s Edition, delivering an exclusive behind-the-scenes walkthrough that brings his legendary insight directly to the audience.
The collection as a whole is valued between £6 million and £10 million, featuring some of the rarest and most limited-edition models ever built. Standout entries include a 1960 Bentley S2 Continental Flying Spur Sports Saloon, one of just 49 left-hand-drive, four-door Flying Spur Continentals crafted by H.J. Mulliner, and a 1962 Citroën DS21 Chapron Coupé, one of only a handful ever produced.
Below is a glimpse of some of the exceptional cars curated by Car & Classic’s European specialists for this exclusive auction event.
1980 Lamborghini Countach LP400 S
Among the headline auction offerings is an ultra-rare 1980 Lamborghini Countach LP400 S Series II, one of only 105 ever produced. Finished in its original Lamborghini Argento Metallizzato livery, the car has covered 65,246 km and retains its authentic factory specification.
The Countach runs on a 3,929 cc V12 engine with 370 horsepower, reaching 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and a top speed of 264 km/h. Inside, it has hand-finished black leather seats, and the dashboard has been completely reupholstered in Alcántara.
First registered in May 1980, the LP400 S offers collectors a rare opportunity to own a well-preserved example of Lamborghini’s iconic supercar, featuring its signature wing doors.

1965 Aston Martin DB5 Sports Saloon
Also up for auction is a 1965 Aston Martin DB5 Sports Saloon, finished in the unmistakable Silver Birch over Elephant Grey leather interior, mirroring the car made famous in Goldfinger. The DB5’s continued presence in the Bond franchise has secured its reputation as one of the most iconic British sports cars ever built.
This particular example was restored by former owner John Taylor, bassist and founding member of Duran Duran, who ensured it matched the on-screen Bond DB5 perfectly. Taylor’s band also performed the theme song for the 1985 Roger Moore film A View to a Kill, giving this example an unmistakable link between music and movie history.
Benefitting from comprehensive restorations by GTC Engineering and Shapecraft, first in the 1980s and again in 2000, the car is presented in excellent mechanical and aesthetic condition. The Marek straight-six engine has been rebuilt to 4.2-litre specification and paired with a manual gearbox; the odometer currently reads 56,934 miles.
