Mayfair Art Weekend, the annual celebration of the world’s internationally renowned gallery district, is set to return this summer from Friday 24th-Sunday 26th June. Inviting audiences to explore exceptional art in galleries and artist studios, the event will also find public art across Mayfair for a whole month as part of the Mayfair Sculpture Trail, a Mayfair Art Weekend collaboration with Art in Mayfair from 20th June – 31st July.

Since 2014, independent galleries across Mayfair have united for Mayfair Art Weekend to present an unrivalled opportunity for art enthusiasts to immerse themselves in London’s vibrant hub of creativity and craftsmanship, and to engage with the internationally diverse offering of free exhibitions and art events.

The extended programme of Mayfair Art Weekend includes a collaboration with Art in Mayfair to launch the third Mayfair Sculpture Trail – a collaborative art initiative, featuring an interactive trail of both temporary sculptures presented by neighbouring galleries and permanent sculptures on the iconic streets of Mayfair including New Bond Street, Cork Street, Burlington Arcade, Grosvenor Square and Berkeley Square. Amongst a selection of the world’s best loved artists, making their debut in sculpture will be Kojo Marfo presented by JD Malat Gallery. Visitors will have access to a free audio guide to help navigate their way through the trail and connect with the artworks. The complete artwork list will be revealed in April.

Highlights

A highlight of Mayfair Art Weekend 2022 is the return of the popular Gallery HOP! on Friday 24th June from 6-8pm to kick-start the weekend, with a special late-night viewing of all the partner galleries, animating the streets of Mayfair with open access to a wide audience of art devotees, young artists, and collectors.

Gallery tours will be offered all day on Saturday 25th June, along with talks and events within galleries. On Sunday 26th June family activities will be run in the galleries, as well as the third Mayfair Art Weekend Showreel hosted by partners, The Mayfair Hotel, in their world-renowned Mayfair Theatre. Launched in 2021, Access All Areas, a programme of events promoting diversity through behind the scenes insight for young people in partnership with Art Market Mentors and Good Nugget, will also feature in Sunday’s programme.

The full programme of live events, ranging from talks, tours, workshops, performances and family friendly activities, will be announced on the Mayfair Art Weekend website in June with participating galleries to be announced in April.
