Aston Martin has launched its first SUV, the DBX.
The brand, best known for its dynamic sports cars that appear in the James Bond movies, is launching this new design to appeal to a wider range of consumers. They hope that by launching an SUV, they will extend its audience beyond sports car fans and appeal to those who need something more practical.
CEO Andy Palmer said: “I can’t emphasise enough how incredibly exciting and significant DBX is for Aston Martin. Through its development alone, this beautiful SUV has already taken the company into new territories and in inspiring directions.”

The price for the DBX will start at $190,000 in the United States. This is significantly less than many other Aston Martin models, which sell for around $300,000, and in line with typical prices for other luxury SUVs.

Aston Martin consulted a female advisory committee to design the car, in an attempt to come up with a design that represented women’s tastes and to break through the stereotype of the brand being predominantly male.
The SUV is powered by a turbocharged 4.0 litre V8 engine and produces up to 542 horsepower.
At the unveiling of the model in Los Angeles, creative director Marek Reichman said: “It has all of the dynamic capabilities of our sports cars, and some of that off-road capability as well.”
