Julien’s Auctions of California presents an online-only auction event of classic Marilyn Monroe photographs on August 5th 2019.
This 11″ x 14″ photograph collection, beautifully represented in both colour and black and white prints, features timeless images of Marilyn Monroe taken mostly in 1962 during her now-iconic last photo sessions, harking back to her earlier days as a pin-up model on the beaches of Southern California. Other featured images depict Marilyn drinking champagne in the Hollywood Hills as well as early publicity shots when she was just finding her pathway to becoming the most famous movie star in the world.
Many of these photographs on offer are from the noted Edward Weston Collection and they will all be offered without reserve. Julien’s commented “This event hopes to celebrate Marilyn Monroe, allowing for us to “hold a good thought” for her as she requested and celebrate her life through photography”.
The auction is now online for advance bidding here and will start closing in real time and in lot order for live bidding beginning at 11:00 a.m. PDT on 5th August 2019 exclusively on Julien’s Live.
