Stanley Gibbons Baldwin’s is thrilled to present the inaugural auction for its newly established comics division, and the London auction house – already globally renowned for its expertise in stamps and coins – is doing so with a splash. On Saturday 1st November, SGB presents the MCM Afterparty: Comics CGC 100 sale, featuring CGC-graded Marvel and DC key issues.
With starting bids from £40, and a top lot estimate of £10,000 – £11,000, there is something to enjoy for all – from the most seasoned collector to the comic-curious newbie. Bid on Silver Age classics like Amazing Spider-Man and Batman, along with Bronze Age first appearances, modern variant covers, and slabbed keys (significant issues stored in sealed plastic cases) curated for serious collectors. And for those who collect first appearances, this auction will include those of Iron Man, Ant-Man, Daredevil, the New X-Men and The Avengers, among other comic legends.

Following this inaugural sale is a double header featuring lots from the Alan McCulloch collection, including the first appearance of Thor (Journey into Mystery #83) and Loki (Journey into Mystery #85), and the highly sought-after #1 Fantastic Four, each of which could see £10,000 bids.
