The hotel is carved out of the cliffs that hug the Amalfi coastline. An 88-metre lift-shaft transports guests down to the private, dark-sand beach below. This is a sensational setting.

The hotel was the former home of Carlo Cinque and was turned into a hotel in 1970.  Today his niece Virginia and her two sons run the property.  The hotel is set in beautiful gardens with vines and brightly coloured bougainvillaea gracing the balconies.

From road level a lift takes guests to the main hall with its comfortable sofas and antiques - its white walls enhancing and reflecting the colours of the furniture and plants.  There is a bar and the Michelin starred restaurant “San Pietro” with a dining terrace and live music in the evening.

Each of the rooms and suites are air-conditioned, decorated with antique furnishings, television and sybaritic bathroom.  All rooms regardless their category, have terrace and sea view.

There is a swimming pool with dramatic views of the coastline, a fitness centre with state-of-the-art equipments and a wide range of treatments and massages, a sunbathing platform next to the beach and a tennis court at sea level next to which the newly opened beach restaurant “il Carlino” is located.
